JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown are releasing an album. I repeat, two of the most unpredictable and original rappers of the moment have joined forces for a collaborative work called SCARING THE HOES VOL. 1, which is out this Friday. Today, they dropped the title track and a Logan Fields–directed video.
The track opens with echoed clapping and a squiggly saxophone. Peggy and Brown come in fierce, demanding removal of the aux chord over live drumming. "Play something for the bitches / How the fuck you supposed to make money off this shit / You wanna be an emcee? / What the fuck you think, it's not '93," Peggy raps in his first verse. The track explodes into a bass-heavy, hardcore funk romp. It's fun as hell.
