Kiki Frances and Cameron Bright are gearing up to release their fourth EP as Babygirl this Friday, promising that Be Still My Heart will be their most tender, lovelorn collection of songs to date. With the release charting the highs and lows of relationships’ lifespans, the single “Sore Eyes” demonstrates the meaning behind their classification of the EP’s tracks as “pop songs with sad guitars” as the echoing, dream-pop riffs match Frances’ light vocals.

Setting up at a train station in their hometown of Toronto, the duo recently performed an acoustic version of the track for our “Neighborhoods” video series. Both considerably gentler than the studio recording and granted the unique acoustics of a train platform shelter, the longing nature of the track’s lyrics seem suitably matched by passing trains in the background.
