Ahead of their Coachella debut this weekend, Magdalena Bay announced mini mix vol. 3, the latest installment in the series the duo of Mica Tenenbaum and Matt Lewin started in 2019. The 15-minute mix is accompanied by vibrant, lo-fi videos for each song. These seven tracks continue the duo's skill for fun, buoyant pop gems. Immediate standout "Top Dog" even features a Laura Dern shoutout. "I'm always happy because / I only do what I want," Tenenbaum sings cooly on that same track. Go off!
“Our mini mixes delve into eclectic sounds, sometimes pastiche," Magdalena Bay shared in a statement. "We feel less pressure while making them than with a more serious release so they naturally have a fun spirit to them. The mini mix knows no bounds in terms of genre or stylings. The only rule is we try to keep the songs relatively short, but we don’t really enforce that all too much.”
