Madison McFerrin is releasing her debut album I Hope You Can Forgive Me on May 12. She's already shared the singles "Stay Away (From Me)," "(Please Don't) Leave Me Now," and "God Herself." Today, she's released another track "Utah," which McFerrin said is about getting out of rocky terrain and finding "ways to work through problems." She also shared a lyric video that was a collaboration between blackpowerbarbie and Melissa Santamaría.

"After having two separate cross-country roadtrips that involved a blowout fight in Utah, I was overcome with emotion and curiosity," she shared of the single. "What was it about that particular desert state that made it the case that my fiancé and I would butt heads? The only song on the album with full instrumentation, it shows the evolution of my own sound from a cappella to a live band. Even more full circle, the musicians accompanying me are my former Cosmodrome bandmates from college! As a pretty conflict-avoidant person, this song was incredibly cathartic and helped me release a lot of my own frustrations."
