Foo Fighters announced they have a new album called But Here We Are coming out on June 2 via Roswell Records. This will be their first album following the passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins last year. The press release described the record as a “brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year" and "a testament to the healing powers of music, friendship and family." Along with the news, they've shared the first single "Rescued."
"It came in a flash / It came out of nowhere / It happened so fast / And then it was over," Grohl sings on the first verse of the powerful rock tune. With those first few lines, it's hard not to think about death and other unexpected ends life throws our way. Foo Fighters understand how to hammer in hard truths with forward-looking resolve. "I'm just waiting to be rescued / Bring me back to life," goes the chorus. Even if someone's waiting to be saved, there's still the implication that help is coming and new beginnings are bound to take place.
