Since 2004, Do LaB has hosted their own stage on the festival grounds each year at Coachella, offering what has become an experience within the festival like no other, packed with special appearances, immersive art installations, and a vibrant dance music–loving community. The longtime LA-based curators—who are also hosting their flagship Lightning in a Bottle festival at Buena Vista Lake in May—pulled out all the stops this year, including surprise sets from Coachella main stage headliner ODESZA (with special guest Sudan Archives), Vintage Culture b2b Mochakkand, and James Blake, plus performances from The Glitch Mob, Dombresky’s Disco Dom, Monolink, Dylan & Harry (the new project of Party Favor and Baauer), Whipped Cream, Phantoms, and many more.
"The hype of Do LaB is real," Australian duo Flight Facilities told us after their late Friday night set. "We've always wanted to play this stage and the moment was delivered. It’s such a special escape within Coachella and run by an incredibly creative and forward-thinking team. Added bonus being sandwiched between DJ sets from James Blake and Vintage Culture b2b Mochakk. We were truly humbled by James Blake’s sheer height and good looks—huge lad!"

LA-based DJ SOHMI already had a firsthand experience as a spectator taking in the Do LaB experience over the years, but this was her fist time as a performer. "When I first started going to Coachella a few years ago, the Do LaB was one of the stages that you would just find me at," she reveals. "I would just be here for most of the day. If I lost my friends, they knew I’d probably be at the Do LaB."
Before performing her set on the Do LaB stage, renowned singer/dancer Aluna shared similar excitement. "As soon as I got here, Do LaB was giving me birthday party meets afterparty before anything's finished. I already chose four or five different outfits. I decided to wear the loudest, brightest one, because I saw people were already just having so much fun. That's what is going to make me feel so much more comfortable playing."
Photographers Jess Gallo and divisuals were on the scene throughout it all, capturing intimate artist portraits backstage, interactions with the fans, and all of the performances. Check out their highlights below.
