It’s been a hectic couple of years for Salt Lake City indie rockers Krooked Kings, who’ve just released their second album since officially coming together to form the band in 2019 and keeping busy in the interim with a heavy touring schedule—including headlining spots as well as opening sets for Goth Babe and Rare Americans. In between releasing their recent sophomore album All of the Good Days and touring it across North America this fall, the band are unveiling their most high-concept music video to date, with the album track “Sick of Being Young” being brought to life in a high school setting.
With obvious nods to the iconic “Smells Like Teen Spirit” video, the visual accompaniment to the driving, yearning rock tune equally incorporates the kind of dream logic that finds you back in your teenage years navigating nightmare situations in various settings within your high school building. “This is our favorite video yet,” the band shares of the clip, which boasts a certain hometown flavor. “We’ve done most of our videos in LA, but shot this one in Salt Lake, which was big for us. We’ve got a good balance of our creative team now based out of SLC—including both of our illustrators—and we love it that way.”
