With the release of her debut album Good Thing We Stayed, a headlining tour, and her network television debut already in the books for 2023, Julia Wolf is only getting started. The latest step for the NYC-based alt-pop songwriter is a massive early-summer US tour supporting Quinn XCII, which she’s in the midst of now, introducing vast audiences across the country to her unique blend of gothic-shaded pop and R&B.
Before the tour kicked off at the beginning of May, Wolf sat down to perform a “Neighborhoods” set for us outside of a practice space in LA, where she played through the album’s opening cut “Now.” Accompanied by just an acoustic guitar, the performance provides a raw look at the track stripped of its glowing trap-inspired beat.
