Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem have teamed up once again for a surprise new cut entitled “The Hillbillies.” The song features a prominent sample of Bon Iver’s 2020 non-album track “PDLIF,” and has an unexpected sports theme tied to it with the two emcees continually referring to themselves as Messi and Neymar—two of the biggest soccer stars on the planet.

The single was produced by Evilgiane, who is the founder of Surf Gang, a plugg pioneer, and frequent collaborator of up-and-coming rap stars like RealYungPhil and BBY GOYARD. The song arrives with a playful music video—which features a cameo from Tyler, The Creator—directed by Neal Farmer and pgLang.

Check out the song and accompanying music video below. Earlier this month, Kendrick was revealed to be a headliner for the forthcoming ACL Music Festival in Austin, scheduled for the weekends of October 6 and 13—revisit the full lineup here.
