Beck and Phoenix have teamed up for a summer slammer in the form of “Odyssey,” which arrives ahead of the seminal indie acts’ co-headlining tour. The track, which meets halfway between both artists’ singular styles, is a joyful slice of hedonistic disco-pop. Out now on Capitol Records, the cut features vocals from both Beck and Phoenix’s Thomas Mars, showcasing a synchronicity that can only be unveiled in collaboration. The hook is bolstered by an unexpected yet delightful vibraphone part, interacting playfully with a suite of galactic synths.
The 19-city Summer Odyssey tour kicks off on August 1 in Seattle at Climate Pledge Arena, with stops including the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and New York’s Madison Square Garden, before wrapping up September 10 in Columbia, Maryland at Merriweather Post Pavilion.
