To celebrate the 30th anniversary of her iconic debut album Exile in Guyville, Liz Phair has shared a special outtake entitled “Miss Lucy.” The track was recorded with Brad Wood during sessions for Exile in Guyville, but left off the album in favor of the track “Flower.” An early demo version of the song was made available previously as part of 2018’s archival release The Girly-Sound Tapes.
The track is part of a campaign from Matador Records ahead of the special anniversary reissue of Exile in Guyville, which will arrive on limited-edition purple vinyl. The 2xLP will be out October 20. Additionally, in November Phair will celebrate the record by launching a full-band US tour and performing Exile in Guyville in its entirety (along with some additional hits) at some of the largest venues of her career. Blondshell will open all dates.
