Last week we named Christine and the Queens’ latest record Paranoïa, Angels, True Love one of our 25 favorite albums of the year so far, shortly after Red sat down with us to dive deep into the project’s origins for an extensive digital cover story. Now, with some of the influences he discussed in that piece in mind, we invited him to compile a tracklist for FLOOD FM’s “Hacked” series, which you can hear all week.

Spanning the distance from the Bristol trip-hop scene that heavily inspired the record’s sound (Massive Attack, Portishead), to Marvin Gaye—the namesake of Paranoïa track “Marvin Descending”—to The Who’s operatic Tommy score, you can tune in here to get a fuller sense of how these reference points worked their way into the new record as the episode airs every day this week (July 10 to 14) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT. You can also check out Red’s intro for the episode below.
