The melodic folk stylings that make Australia’s Husky an act worth your time are all on wide display here in their new live video for “Saint Joan.” The acoustic take on the quietly upbeat track flows seamlessly from one movement to the next, highlighting sparse instrumentation, visual storytelling, and fluid harmonies with bandleader Husky Gawenda declaring, “Watching out here I go: I am leaving / I am leaving / I am leaving.” The spirited performance creates a singular atmosphere reminiscent of some of the best of the band’s Pacific Northwest contemporaries (Phil Ek, too, lent a hand on Husky’s upcoming record).
