Fatboi Sharif and Steel Tipped Dove have released “Brandon Lee,” the first single from their collaborative Backwoodz Studioz debut, Decay.

On the track, Sharif’s menacing, prodding voice is accompanied perfectly by Dove’s percussion-and-choir beat. The start-and-stop pattern of snare drum slaps and bell clangs dance alongside Sharif’s unpredictable delivery, giving the song a nervous edge and ominous tone.

“‘Brandon Lee’ was one of the earlier songs we recorded in the process,” Dove says. “The beat was totally different but Sharif really helped shape it into something else and then we got even weirder with the post production and kinda found Decay’s sonic foundation in the process.”

Decay features 17 tracks across 39 minutes and zero features. Check out “Brandon Lee” below, and pre-order the album here.
