Slowdive have returned with a haunting, spectral new track entitled “skin in the game,” the latest cut from the group’s new LP everything is alive arriving September 1 via Dead Oceans. On the single, Neil Halstead’s sublime vocals float above wall-of-sound guitars and echo-laden drums. Halstead, who also produced the track, poetically recalls a miscommunication, singing, “I won’t know and you won’t say it now / ‘Cause you don’t say and I will never ask.”
This fall, Slowdive will embark on a tour of North America, the UK, and Ireland. The North American leg of the run is nearly sold out, with tickets remaining in Salt Lake City and St. Paul, and a newly added second show in San Francisco—check out all of those dates here. You can find “skin in the game” below, and pre-order everything is alive here.
