Los Angeles beat scene mainstay Somni has shared a new single entitled “Cracks,” which will be featured on the producer’s forthcoming LP, Gravity. The project is set to arrive on September 8 via another LA staple, Friends of Friends.
Gravity is a personal record that takes an introspective look at the weight of life, and “Cracks” fits this theme perfectly. Regarding the song, Somni shares, “I wrote this one about someone who is sort of losing their faith—losing their optimism and starting to see the ugliness in things. They call out to some higher force for help in how they are starting to see the world, and realize they might actually be on their own.”
On the haunting track, Somni sings, “Well I could call to you again / But I’m not wasting time / Just show yourself, change what’s in my head / And then I promise I’ll give in / And praise you every night / But I keep seeing cracks in everything.”
