Vancouver neo-psych outfit Meltt returned back in March with their Another Quiet Sunday EP following a string of singles in 2022, the quartet’s first collection of original material since their debut album in 2019. It wasn’t long before the reveal that this EP would precede another full-length album, which we now know is titled Eternal Embers—their first record for Nettwerk Music Group, which is set to arrive September 22.
In the meantime, the group took to the local ski destination Cypress Mountain during its off-season to perform two tracks from the forthcoming album—the recently released “Soak My Head” and last year’s “It Could Grow Anywhere,” previously included on the EP—for a “Neighborhoods” session. Only slightly stripping back the psychedelic layers to these songs, trippy autoharp and electronic percussion remain at the forefront of the former track while the latter gets fully reworked as an acoustic ballad.
Check out their performance of both songs below.
