Yesterday, the first trailer for What Happened, Miss Simone?, directed by Liz Garbus (Bobby Fischer Against the World, Killing in the Name), was released and features never-before-seen footage of the singer-songwriter alongside interview clips of Simone’s daughter honestly speaking about her life with her mother.

The documentary, which opened this year’s Sundance Film Festival to great acclaim, will be available on Netflix starting on June 26.
