Amid concerns about Taylor Swift causing earthquakes in Seattle during her performance, Queens of the Stone Age had the floor bouncing all the way across the country at The Mann in Philadelphia—according to our photographer David Iskra it was like shooting on a trampoline. Josh Homme and his band were fired up from the get go of their warm summer evening set, with little more than a nice breeze—from the subwoofers—to keep things cool.
Before Queens took the stage, though, Phantogram was all over it. With vocalist Sarah Barthel having recently worked with QOTSA bassist Michael Shuman on a solo project they were a perfect fit for an opener, and the crowd was just as into the electro-pop duo as they were Queens. Earlier in the evening The Armed played to a slightly emptier room, but they managed to get a bit of a pit going and were out in the crowd dancing with fans (and even receiving piggy back rides at one point).
Check out some highlights from the evening, shot by David Iskra, below.
