Mk.gee, a.k.a. Michael Gordon, has returned with two new singles, “Candy” and “How many miles.” This is the first new music from the New Jersey–born, LA-based artist since his 2020 project A Museum of Contradiction.
“Candy” is a funk-leaning lo-fi pop jam filled with psychedelic guitar squiggles and a magnificent use of vocoder. “How many miles” is a more contemplative R&B-inspired song, which showcases Gordon’s gifts as a songwriter and vocalist.
The artist spent much of the past few years on tour as part of Dijon’s live band, as well as an integral collaborator on the artist’s 2021 LP Absolutely. Check out both of the new solo cuts below.
