Jeffrey Paradise has devoted the past decade and change to exploring the minimal electronic sounds that best invoke the imagery associated with the moniker he records under: Poolside. Cycling through chillwave, synthpop, nu-disco, and other beat-the-heat genres, his latest single “Float Away” sees him crossing over to slightly more rock-leaning songwriting—though, appropriately, it’s the poolside sounds of yacht rock he embraces as an influence.

The track will arrive ahead of his largely collaborative new album Blame It All on Love, landing October 20 via Counter Records. But before then, Paradise took the time to put together a playlist for FLOOD FM’s “Hacked” series incorporating some of his funkiest peers—Cola Boyy, L’Impératrice, Purple Disco Machine—with classics by icons of smooth songwriting like Carly Simon, Sade, and Barry White. Tune in here to catch the full episode when it airs every day this week (August 14 to 18) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT on FLOOD FM.
