Talking Heads will reunite at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 11 for a Q&A with Spike Lee, taking place immediately after the premiere of A24’s Stop Making Sense restoration. After nearly 40 years, Jonathan Demme’s groundbreaking concert film will be making a return to theaters, parlaying the TIFF premiere into an exclusive IMAX run beginning on September 22, followed by a theater tour beginning September 29. The film will be shown in a pristine new 4K restoration.

One of the greatest concert films of all time, Stop Making Sense brings to the screen Talking Heads at Hollywood’s Pantages Theater across three nights in December 1983: David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison, alongside a growing ensemble of supporting musicians. The restoration project also comes paired with a two-vinyl deluxe reissue of the film’s soundtrack mixed by Harrison and E.T. Thorngren and featuring previously unreleased songs, which drops tomorrow. You can pre-order that here.

Tickets for the new screenings are available here, and check out the official trailer below.
