Last month, we launched a new sub-series within our ongoing “Neighborhoods” performance series which specifically focuses on Oslo, Norway’s long-running Øya Festival—less so the world-renowned artists who travel great distances to headline the event than the local talent that provides the fest with its unique flavor. The miniseries aims to focus on such groups as they perform in various locations around the city.

For the latest installment, we caught up with indie-soul songwriter Beharie the morning after a full-band set at the event where he shared acoustic solo versions of “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind?” and “Heaven,” two singles released earlier this year. The session was filmed within the neighborhood park Tøyen, where the festival is located, before the crowds descended upon the outdoor space for another day full of live music.
