Arkells, on the heels of their new LP Laundry Pile and a US tour that kicked off at the end of last month, have shared a “Neighborhoods” performance of “Skin.” The Hamilton-bred band perform the Laundry Pile standout on a basketball court at Stanley Park in Toronto, down the street from where they recorded the new album.

In the “Neighborhoods” performance, the band strips down to just a two piece, with frontman Max Kerman and Anthony Carone leading the way on acoustic guitar, harmonica, and vocals. Despite the lack of the studio version’s hard-charging piano and clean drum groove, the melodic power of the song remains as strong as ever. Acoustically, the song takes on a different tone, less slick than heart-on-sleeve raw. Check out the performance on a bright, beautiful Toronto day below, and listen to Laundry Pile here.
