Fall is an exciting time in Austin. With the arrival of the season, the anticipation builds for cooler temperatures, Halloween, and the Texas capital’s annual Levitation festival. Originally known as Psych Fest, the event was rebranded as Levitation in 2015, branching out from its psych-rock origins to a carefully curated mix of adventurous artists across various genres.
Taking over Austin’s finest venues across town including Mohawk, Empire, and Stubb’s, this year’s lineup featured a thrilling assortment of artists from around the globe, including Jockstrap, Beach Fossils, Say She She, SASAMI, Ganser, Durand Jones, and, naturally, a tribute to the festival’s namesake, 13th Floor Elevators. By the end of the four-day fest, FLOOD photographer Kenn Box revealed they felt “the importance of what it means to capture an entire community’s shared experience through music.”
