Shortly after wrapping up a tour with a sold-out show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom, Irish rap trio Kneecap have shared their Toddla T–produced debut single for Heavenly Recordings, “Better Way to Live.” On the cut, the group is joined by Grian Chatten of Fontaines D.C., who showcases his signature growl and is joined by bandmate Tom Coll on drums.
Talking about the track—which is accompanied by a Peadar Gill–directed video filmed in Madden’s Bar in Belfast, where the group first met Chatten—Kneecap said: “‘Better Way to Live’ is all about finding that little spark of joy in the monotony, in the day-to-day things that you barely bat an eye at. In between the moments of that repetitive lift of the pint, or spark of a cigarette, there is an opportunity for bliss. Underneath that constant noise, there is a silence that can breathe new life and inspiration breaking through the mundane.”
Alongside the release, the group has announced a run of North American headlining dates for March and April of 2024. Check out the visual for the track below, and view the band’s 2024 tour dates here.
