Last week, The Hives concluded their sold-out North American tour and are currently on a run in Latin America (recently making waves at Mexico City’s Corona Capital), becoming the first Western band to perform in Venezuela in over 10 years. Having come to the realization that they’re wanted in too many places at once, the group has announced The Hives Franchise, a call to cover bands around the world to throw their own Hives shows.
“THE HIVES FRANCHISE NEEDS YOU,” the band wrote on Instagram. “We have arrived at a point where The Hives can no longer keep up with public demand for concerts. This is where you come in. Help us create a world where The Hives are playing in every city, all the time. Let’s make business together and rock ‘n’ roll.
“Q2 and Q3 reports both point to the need for a new solution to this problem,” the band further clarified, albeit using business-speak. “Despite playing pretty much every day 2023 we feel that it is stretching the personnel and still not meeting targets and desired results. We have now after much sighing and woe come up with what we think is the most elegant solution. We need several The Hives. Imagine a world where The Hives are playing every city all the time. That’s a world we want to live in!”
