After returning last summer with their first new record in four years, post-punk revivalists Metric soon after revealed that Formentera was the first of a two-part project with its sequel landing just over a year later this past October. Both releases exhibit the veteran band’s ever-evolving nocturnal indie-pop sound while weaving in and out of influences ranging from dream pop to new rave.
As the band closes out another monumental year, we had Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw record a new episode of FLOOD FM’s “Hacked” in which both band members share seven tracks from their indie-rock contemporaries ranging from late-’90s cuts from Silver Jews and The Chemical Brothers to recent tracks from Bombay Bicycle Club and Secret Machines. You can hear the full episode when it airs everyday this week (November 27 to December 1) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT on FLOOD FM. Tune in here.
