Dating back to 1995, Popscene has been a live music institution within San Francisco’s dance scene. The combination live set/DJ dance party co-founded by FLOOD FM’s Aaron Axelsen has been livening up the city for 28 years now, and considering the project’s origins in its creators’ mutual love of Britpop it makes sense to celebrate its anniversary with a block of programming on FLOOD FM devoted to the alt-rock movement.
All week, Axelsen will be hosting “Popscene’s Top 28 Britpop Bangers,” a FLOOD FM radio special honing in on the era between 1995 and 2008 and featuring artists ranging from Blur to Bloc Party, Pulp to The Happy Mondays. The two-hour program will air three times daily at 11 a.m., 5 p.m., and 9 p.m. PT only on FLOOD FM. Find more details below.
