Irish alt-rockers NewDad have shared “White Ribbons,” the final pre-release single ahead of their forthcoming album Madra. The project, which means “dog” in Irish, will arrive on January 26 via Fair Youth/Atlantic. The song is patiently paced, with voices entering and leaving the conversation as the delicate instrumentation led by contemplative guitar melodies ebbs and flows around Julie Dawson’s voice.

“This song is about how no matter how much shit you put your body through, it always finds a way to fix itself, and that’s a very beautiful thing,” Dawson shared. “‘White Ribbons’ is a metaphor for my skin; something that always heals my wounds. It’s like a promise to my body that I will be kinder to myself.”
