Adrianne Lenker, beloved singer and songwriter in Big Thief, has announced that a new solo album is on the way. That project, Bright Future, is set to land via 4AD on March 22. Arriving shortly after the heartwrenching piano ballad “Ruined,” the new single “Sadness as a Gift” is a shimmering, reflective folk epic built around stirring strings, delightful harmonies, and delicately strummed acoustic guitar.

Bright Future marks Lenker’s first album since 2020’s songs & instrumentals, and features co-production from Philip Weinrobe alongside contributions from Nick Hakim, Mat Davidson, and Josefin Runsteen.
