Ever since blowing up at the top of the decade with their 2011 debut album What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?, London post-punk re-revivalists The Vaccines picked up where the 2000s movement that spawned The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and countless fellow British bands left off when they went AWOL or swapped their guitars for synths. Since then, the group has released new material at an impressively consistent clip, with LPs dropping every three years since their immediate 2012 follow-up Come of Age.
Their anticipated sixth record Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations landed at the very top of the year, leaving the rest of 2024 open to touring the new songs across the globe. As they wrap up a set of dates in Europe and anticipate a heavy slate of UK and North American gigs in February and March, the band found time to record an episode of “Hacked” for FLOOD FM, with a playlist spanning everything from Kate Bush to Dirty Projectors to Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass. You can hear the full episode every day this week (January 22 through 26) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT only on FLOOD FM. You can also find tickets for all their upcoming shows here.
