Back in November, Ground Control Touring and Noise for Now revealed that they’d not only be bringing their 2023 Abortion Access Benefit live show series back for an encore in 2024, but that the program would expand from its core locations of NYC, LA, and Chicago to also include Philadelphia and Nashville. Taking place simultaneously on January 20, the events saw some of each city’s most exciting acts taking the stage for a wild night of diverse musical performances with the end goal of raising funds and awareness for the concerning status of reproductive rights in the US.
While each city’s lineup had plenty of draws, Nashville’s may have been the most eclectic, with DIY-minded punks MSPAINT and Upchuck taking the DRKMTTER stage and livening up the sold-out space before the evening culminated in a rare solo acoustic performance from Soccer Mommy. In the interim, DJ sets from Total Wife, DJ Loveless, and Third Man–signed egg punks Snõõper kept the energy high, along with performances by Wombo, Crystal Egg, Mali Velasquez, Brian Brown, and Sewing Club.
Our photographer Skylar Watkins was on the premises all night, documenting each set as well as pulling the artists aside for portraits. Check out the recap in photos below.
