IHEARTCOMIX has lived many lives in its two decades of existence. Initially founded by Franki Chan as an event promoter and record label for high-energy mid-aughts luminaries including Matt and Kim and Juiceboxxx, the endeavor has since morphed into a creative marketing agency and content studio that’s increasingly helped shape the foundation for LA’s arts and culture scene in various ways—including hosting events ranging from record release parties for Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X to the annual community-focused LA Gives Back fundraiser.
As the latest guest on FLOOD FM’s “Hacked,” Chan brought to his episode iconic underground voices from the era when IHEARTCOMIX was first gaining traction (including label signees Matt and Kim and The Toxic Avenger, as well as Pictureplane and Metronomy) along with more mainstream figures such as The Rolling Stones, Janet Jackson, and INXS. With episodes airing daily through this Friday, February 2, at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PST, tune in on FLOOD FM here.
