Working Families Party has announced the Politics House showcase at The Parish in Austin for this year’s SXSW. The events on March 11 and 12 will include a music showcase featuring Estevie, Yaya Bey, and Luna Luna. Politics House will also feature evening parties from Austin’s queer country night Neon Rainbows with DJ Boi Orbison, including a drag show hosted by Brigitte Bandit and a cumbia dance party presented by Mijente featuring DJ Sizzle of LA-based collective Cumbiatón.

“In 2024 more than ever, our democracy is on the line,” said Nelini Stamp, Director of Strategy and Partnerships with the Working Families Party. “We firmly believe that culture shapes our political reality, not the other way around. For years, the people at the forefront of cultural transformation in our country come and gather at SXSW and I couldn’t think of a better time to build a multiracial coalition to save democracy.”
