Adrianne Lenker has shared “Fool,” another new single from the Big Thief vocalist’s solo album Bright Future, out March 22 via 4AD. On the track, warbly guitars interlock with a melodic bass line, offering a knotty backdrop for Lenker and some charming harmonies to croon: “Oh, just say what it is that you want.”
Accompanying the single is a video directed by Adrianne’s brother, Noah Lenker, which features Adrianne’s family and their dogs. “I feel like I can hear her laughing and smiling when I listen back to this song. The joy is palpable,” said producer Philip Weinrobe. “It’s easy to forget that Adrianne can do unbridled ecstatic happiness just as deftly as every other emotion in the human experience.”
