Madrid band Hinds has returned with a new single entitled “Coffee,” the band’s first in over four years which marks a return to the group’s original pared-down lineup of co-vocalists/guitarists Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote after performing as a four-piece. The track is a pop-infused garage rock cut which features both vocalists singing of coffee and cigarettes and the joys of crying on vacation—or, as these heady Europeans call it, “holiday.”
Regarding the track, the duo said: “‘Coffee’ is a sincericide, screaming the nasty truth as loud as you can with no shame. It’s about admitting to all the things you’re not supposed to like or doing all the things you’re not meant to do. It’s a lot of fun when you can be fully honest and shut that little voice in your head that tells you what you should or shouldn’t do.”
The accompanying video features the duo working in an auto repair shop, though they’re more interested in shenanigans than fixing cars. I would go there to have fun. I would not go there to get my Moped fixed. Check out the extremely fun track here, peep the video below, and make sure to catch the group at FLOODfest next month.
