Waxahatchee has shared “365,” another single taken from her forthcoming album Tigers Blood. Speaking of singles, the track comes alongside a one-shot music video (film buffs, see what I did there?). Named after the number of days in a year on our beloved planet, the song is about addiction and co-dependency, and takes the form of an acoustic-driven recording in which Katie Crutchfield stretches her vocals into impressive territory. The song has a raw immediacy that gives its words a sharpened edge.
Regarding the track, Waxa Katie said: “‘365’ is a song about codependency as it pertains to addiction and relationships with addicts. It’s something I’ve dealt with a lot in my life and I really wanted to distill the nerves and emotions down to their purest form in this song... Brad Cook and I had a lot of ideas we tried for this one, but in the end, we tracked it live just him, Jake [MJ] Lenderman and myself running the song a couple of times together in the room.”
