While the show didn’t quite reach the levels of nostalgia achieved by her recent gig backing Ben Gibbard in The Postal Service on the most recent leg of the Give Up anniversary tour, Jenny Lewis’ Ryman Auditorium gig in Nashville the other night was full of aughts-indie surprises. Despite supporting her latest LP, 2023’s country-leaning Joy’all, the setlist was highlighted by the frequent collaboration of The Watson Twins—with whom Lewis collaborated on her first non–Rilo Kiley LP, Rabbit Fur Coat, in 2006—while elsewhere in the set Lewis performed Girls’ iconic indie-sleaze anthem “Lust for Life.” She even brought out the show’s openers, Logan Ledger and Hayden Pedigo, to perform a cover of Rilo Kiley's “Silver Lining.”

Our photographer Skylar Watkins was on the scene for the March 13 gig, documenting many of the set’s most memorable moments. Check out those highlights below.
