On August 28, indie-rock pioneers Yo La Tengo will release Stuff Like That There—a collection of covers, remakes of older tracks, and a handful of new songs. It’s the second time the Hoboken trio have taken the grab-bag approach, following 1990’s Fakebook.
You can hear two of the songs now: a cover of Special Pillow’s “Automatic Doom” and a stripped-down acoustic “cover” of “Deeper Into Movies,” from 1997’s classic I Can Hear the Heart Beating As One.
The group will hit the road in September, playing exclusively stripped-down acoustic sets for the first time in their thirty-one-year career. See a full list of North American dates below, along with the album’s tracklisting and cover art.
