Where I come from, any number over nine you write in numerical form. Despite this, Charly Bliss’ new single, “Nineteen,” which I like to think of as “19,” is very good. The track will be featured on the band’s forthcoming album Forever, set to be released on August 16 via Lucky Number.
The song begins with punchy piano chords and impassioned vocals from singer and songwriter Eva Hendricks before building synths lead the song into triumph. “I’ll always be fascinated by love and relationships that don’t quite work and bring tsunamis of heartbreak,” Hendricks said of the song. “The further away I am from it, the kind of love that bashes you against the rocks just as often as it carries you over waves of manic joy, the easier it is to see the full scope of it. First love is crazy.”
