Today is a big day at Hinds HQ. The duo of Spanish songwriters Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote are announcing the band’s fourth album (and first full-length for the group stripped down two its two founding members), Viva Hinds, along with sharing a new set of North American tour dates to support it in October following the record’s September 6 release. Additionally, we’re getting the record’s first single, which is also one of its most exciting collaborations: before we get to hear the band’s song with Fontaines D.C.’s Grian Chatten, they’ve shared the lead single “Boom Boom Back,” which features Beck.
And just months after igniting the FLOODfest stage in Austin, Hinds are taking over FLOOD FM’s “Hacked” series this week where they’ll debut the new single before spinning some favorite tracks by indie-rock contemporaries including Dehd, Courtney Barnett, feeble little horse, and Sorry, in addition to colorful tracks from bossa nova/hip-hop artist Guayaba and the Spanish electronic artist Judeline. The episode will air through May 10, and you can hear it every day at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PST only on FLOOD FM. You can also check out the video for “Boom Boom Back” here.
