Coming off her second GRAMMY-winning collaboration—this time with Fred again.. on “Delilah (pull me out of this)”—LA-via-London songwriter Delilah Montagu is releasing an EP next month that replicates that single’s lyrical intimacy over the artist’s own gentle compositions. Slated for a June 14 release, The Bird promises to precede a series of upcoming releases from Montagu, kicking things off with the songwriter’s signature blend of minimalist instrumentals and neo-soul falsetto on singles like “Coffee” and “Orange.”
It’s both of these tracks that Montagu brought to her recent “Neighborhoods” session set in her current hometown of Los Angeles. Strumming through both tracks on acoustic guitar, the session highlights Montagu’s vocal performance, while the visual component helmed by “Orange” music video director Peter Cerrito almost literally provides a surreal backdrop.
