For some (ironically) unclear reason, it seems like major soft drink behemoth Pepsi is actually planning to bring back its short-lived beverage Crystal Pepsi to liquid consumers. Thanks to the incessant nagging of very, very determined fans of the clear, caffeine-free drink, especially “professional competitive eater” L.A. Beast, grocery store shelves will soon have to push out better drinks for a second chance at crystal love.
News of this clear soda takeover part deux spread quickly when Mr. Beast tweeted a photo of direct communication with the carbonated beverage giant, where they hint that the not-healthy, water-looking liquid would be making a comeback.

“Pepsi superfan,” indeed. The company confirmed the authenticity of this message and stated “we think Crystal Pepsi fans are going to be happy with what we have planned.”
But what about the soda drinker who isn’t a Crystal Pepsi fan? Yesterday, Paste reported that PepsiCo is diving into the world of “craft soda” with its new drink line Stubborn Soda. With fountains that look like beer taps and flavors like lemon berry acai, orange hibiscus, and agave vanilla cream, Stubborn Soda might look old-timey, but it will probably taste strange and new like the future.
Stay tuned for more soda gimmicks and insane promotional roll-outs. If history truly repeats itself, we can only hope for more ads like this one for Crystal Pepsi:
