David Lynch and longtime creative partner Chrystabell have announced a new album headlined by the single “Sublime Eternal Love,“ which comes with a video directed by the surrealist legend Lynch himself. While film fans are likely to be disappointed following a perhaps misleading but characteristically cryptic announcement from Lynch over Memorial Day weekend of something to “see and hear,” at least they’re getting a new visual from the reclusive icon.
The album will be called Cellophane Memories, and it will be released on August 2 via Sacred Bones. Regarding the collaboration, a press release states that the project originated with “a vision that David experienced during a nighttime walk through a forest of tall trees, over the tops of which he saw a bright light. As he recalls it, the light became the lilt of Chrystabell’s voice and revealed a secret to him.”
Of course. Check out the video for the track below, and pre-order Cellophane Memories here. You can also revisit our 2022 profile on Chrystabell following the release of her last album Midnight Star here.
