This past weekend, The Roots hosted the 16th annual edition of the Roots Picnic at The Mann at Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. Over 60,000 people attended the two-day festival to take in performances from Nas, André 3000, Jill Scott, Gunna, Lloyd, BLK ODYSSY, and dozens more, along with The Roots and Lil Wayne’s co-headlining special tribute set to New Orleans with guests PJ Morton, Trombone Shorty, and Lloyd. Even Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro was on hand, presenting The Roots with a proclamation recognizing their contributions to the city of Philadelphia’s arts, arts education, and economy.
