Soccer Mommy, the project of Sophie Allison, has returned with a new single entitled “Lost.” Fans who have caught her recent solo, stripped-back shows might recognize this one as a setlist staple. On the track, acoustic guitar leads the way before slowly building to a triumphant finale. In between, Allison drops nuggets like: “I’ve got her name / I’ve got her face and all these things / But I don’t know what’s in her dreams.” That, folks, is why you keep a dream journal.
Regarding the track, Allison said: “‘Lost’ feels like something new and something old at the same time. It’s a song that’s full of reflection and I wanted its production to really capture that feeling. I’m happy to have a chance to play it at these more intimate solo shows, because I think it really shines in that setting.”
