Talkhouse has announced that its newest podcast will take a look at the bands that were sent on the road to pretend to be The Zombies after the real group disbanded in 1969. The eight-episode series finds host Daniel Ralston going into a deep-dive about a promotion company in small-town Michigan that hired bands to perform as The Zombies shortly after they broke up. The fake band members included Frank Beard and Dusty Hill, who would go on to play in ZZ Top.

Ralston discovered this wild con a decade ago and will be building on his 2016 article on the same subject. The weekly podcast series will launch on July 11. You can listen to a trailer below, and visit Talkhouse’s official website for more information.
