LA’s Winnetka Bowling League have been kicking around since 2018, with their self-titled debut EP released that same year ahead of a slew of follow-up mini releases. Earlier this year, though, they unleashed their first full-length collection of songs, with Sha La La proving to be their initial definitive statement of alt-pop expertise. Led by Matthew Koma, the group are now taking those songs on the road with an extensive US tour planned for late June and the bulk of July, later picking up where they left off in September for another string of shows across the country supporting Mother Mother.
In the meantime, Koma joined us on a new episode of FLOOD FM’s “Hacked,” where he spins music from some recent favorites including Superdrag, Madi Diaz, CHVRCHES’s Lauren Mayberry, Dawes, and Ben Kweller. The episode debuts this morning at 10 a.m. PT and can be heard every day this week (June 17 – 21) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. Tune in here, and find WBL’s upcoming tour dates here.
