Establishing themselves in 2022 with their self-titled debut, Los Angeles’ Color Green have situated themselves among the cosmic country-rock movement that emigrated down the coast from San Francisco a decade ago, as led by crate-digging songwriters like White Fence’s Tim Presley. With their upcoming sophomore album Fool’s Parade they continue to hone their balance of vintage Americana and more contemporary slowcore, with the title track and a pair of other singles hinting at the psychedelic pull of their latest project.

Before its release this Friday, the quartet set up on the banks of the LA River to perform “Fool’s Parade” and the unreleased album cut “Ball and Key” for “Neighborhoods.” Stripping the tracks of their lush production and electric riffs, both songs are still entrancing as acoustic ballads rounded out by bass and minimal percussion. Check out the performance below.
